SCDC holds auditions for its Student Team once a year in September.
****If you are not available to audition on the date listed above due to an unavoidable conflict but you do want to audition, please reach out to us by email at [email protected] to make separate arrangements.****
How does joining SCDC's Student Team benefit me?
*Monthly Dues dues are inclusive of SCDC's drop-in classes. Team members can attend any Level 2 or Level 3 class for no additional charge.
*Dance technique and conditioning training is part of student team rehearsals. Members will increase their skill level as dancers throughout the year and receive individual feedback for improvement.
*Opportunity to learn a choreography and perform at a variety of events throughout the year (some local and some involving travel).
*The fun, support, and camaraderie of being part of a team.
DETAILS
Audition Location: Salsa Connection Dance Company, 23 W Broad St, Richmond, VA (4th floor)
Audition Date: Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 PM. No cost to audition.
*Must Register Online in Advance - Audition Questionnaire will be sent upon registration and is Required to be completed and returned before the audition.
Student Team Member Responsibilities:
*Monthly Dues - Dues are inclusive of SCDC's weekly drop-in classes. Team Members are encouraged to attend as many classes as possible in addition to weekly rehearsals.
*Mandatory training and rehearsals (1-2 times per week; more when necessary to prepare for shows)
*Season runs from mid-September through the end of August (must be able to commit to the entire time period)
*Costs associated with travel and events as well as costuming fees. Hotel room costs are split between team members (if they choose to share rooms) to help with affordability.
Audition Registration Details: Secure your audition spot by registering in Vagaro (just like for a class). Complete the questionnaire that will be sent through email before the audition and return it by the listed date. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions. You must sign up in advance if you want to audition. WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Decision emails with additional details are typically sent within 2-5 days after the audition. Selected dancers have approximately one week to decide if they accept or decline.
